Shining As Leaders
Peer Ministers are sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are nominated and approved by faculty members at Lutheran North (although students may express an interest in serving in this role to the counselors). Peer Ministers have many responsibilities at Lutheran North. Peer Ministers are mentors, role models, and leaders in the school. They mentor and welcome freshman and transfer students through the new student orientation, freshman mixer and, informally, in all daily activities. Peer Ministers are also the leaders of the Small Group Chapels held each week. Peer Ministers are responsible for preparing weekly Bible studies and leading discussions and prayers in a group of 15 students. Peer Ministers are held to the highest of standards academically, behaviorally, and personally. They are afforded the opportunity to shine as leaders at Lutheran North. Peer Ministers are required to attend a one-day training in early August. Pastor Deen and Mrs. Burreson advise the peer Ministry Program.
